Hello again family and friends,

Just thought I’d drop a quick note to let you know how we’re doing and what we’ve been up to as of late… Nothing too exciting – just your typical day in and day out stuff. Though with two extremely hyper and active little boys the day in and day out can be rather eventful. Jake is 3.5 now and Danny is just about 18 months. To illustrate my point – we spent the 2 days after Valentine’s Day between doctor’s offices and the hospital getting Danny’s right arm X-rayed, bandaged, poked, prodded, squeezed back into place, and finally fully casted. Yep, big rough and tumble Danny broke his right forearm in two places, both bones. And believe it or not – Jake was not responsible.

Danny was actually shoved backwards off a ledge by a little girl (not much bigger than him) at the gym kid’s club. Needless to say it was a traumatic two days for all of us. But Danny didn’t waste any time getting back into the swing of things and he only has to have the cast for 3 more weeks… 4 weeks total. I guess things heal a lot faster when your bones are so small.

Besides that bit of news, we don’t have a whole lot to report. Brent is in the thick of his final semester for the MBA program at Cal State San Marcos, and we are all feeling a little bit of extra pressure as he works on some pretty major projects. But we can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel. In fact – I am almost counting the days until he is done and we can have Dad back! A few dates every once in a while will be nice too. Only 2.5 more months. We hope all the hard work and sacrifice will be worth the effort.

The boys keep me busy and going crazy most days. They are generally loud, destructive, and demanding – but of course look terribly cute while being so. We just can’t help but love them. Danny and Jake alternate between being best friends and sworn enemies, thus keeping our days exciting and somewhat unpredictable. Jake is a Sunbeam now and is known as one of the two kids who are, “a handful”. Danny is trying desperately to keep up with Jake and therefore thinks he is much bigger than his britches. He doesn’t want to sit in a high chair or wear a bib, and thinks he has every right to sit on the potty. His list of words include but are not limited to: no, mine, hi, bye, basketball (ba-ball), Mama, Dada, book, Grandma, and shoe.
I keep my sanity by religiously hitting the gym everyday, relying on my girlfriends to get me out of the house, and talking to my mom on the phone. Oh yes, and a little bit of therapeutic shopping every now and then is helpful too.

I’ve also been working for my dad’s vehicle donation business doing some online research and data entry a few hours each day. The extra money and opportunity to work from home is a blessing we are grateful for. I was also recently released from my calling as Ward Primary Chorister, which I’d had for almost 3 years. It was a sad day for me, since I absolutely loved that calling and loved those kids. But it was time for a change. I’m now serving as the Sunday school teacher for the 13 year olds… definitely a change of pace.
So, besides a few broken bones and the ever present runny nose we are all healthy and happy here and hope the rest of you are too. If you have the time, check out our website and please email us back with an update of your own… We’d love to hear from you. Any adult conversation (even if it’s via email) is greatly appreciated :).
