We went to Yosemite last week with Tami’s family. I love this vacation that we have taken every year for the last 5 years for the relaxation (next year we will forgo this trip though)… Wait, you chase your kids all over the valley and push and pull them, clean them every 2.5 seconds… I don’t know why I find this such a great vacation after all. It’s probably just because I’m not working, there’s no email, and I actually have an opportunity to read at some point. Here’s the pictures.

• I’ve been on Tami’s case that she needs to put some entries into this blog before I get too old and feeble to read. All the entries attributed to her were actually me putting them in for her. Sigh The things I do to make our family technologically articulate.
• I started this website probably in the year 2000. That sounds about right. At that point I was envisioning using the nef-family name as a sort of catch-all domain name for the expanded Nef Family use. I set aside archives.nef-family.net for the ‘Nef Said Family Newsletter, greg.nef-famly.net for greg, andrew.nef-family.net for andrew, more recently susan.nef-famliy.net for mom and, of course, brent.nef-family.net for me. (I can have up to 5 subdomains) However the use that I foresaw never materialized. First, I don’t think that many people ever go to any of the subdomains and second, now that I have been married for 5 1/2 years and added 2 children, the brent subdomain doesn’t particularly apply or recognize that it’s my family site. I want Tami to be able to share the URL with her friends and it be representative of the whole family and not just those that know me. For this reason I’m going to be moving the brent subdomain to instead be the default website.
  • So instead of finding this at brent.nef-family.net/blog I’m going to move it to just http://www.nef-family.net.
    • Notice that I’m changing the blog as well? I’m going to try and make the blog more of the focal point and the rest of the website is going to be my playground…. We’ll see how that plays out.
  • This should help with google queries for those that wish to locate us.
  • I’ll update the RSS feeds for the blog to point there, but the gallery RSS feeds might be a little more problematic, I’ll try some things and report back later.
