You know that awkward pause you get when you are being polite and letting someone go through a door before you? I had a pretty cool one yesterday.
I was about to enter a bathroom when the door started opening slowly by itself. I guessed that someone on the other side had pushed the handicapped sign and would be exiting soon so I took a step back to let the person through. As the door continued to open I didn’t see anyone there so I started to go through when Jibu, a friend from work, started to come through at the same time. We both hesitated and took a step back. We both motioned for the other to continue through and then we both tried to go through again. We then repeated the previous motions again.
Stymied for the moment I said, “Well what do we do now”. And Jibu responded, “I think that we should go through at the same time”. So we did.
