God’s Gifts to Me

Titling this post was rather difficult. Originally it was conceptualized to compliment Tami’s on the same subject, but then I thought about titling this post 10 reasons that I’m grateful for Lindt Pyrenées chocolates (#1 below), but they appear to have been discontinued or no one knows where/what they are… That definitely goes in the minus column for thanksgiving. Eventually it all sorted itself out and you get the following, and due to my tendency to ramble, it’s much longer than Tami’s.

  1. I’m grateful that for 2 years (well, they’re only sold around Christmas time–so it wasn’t really 2 years, more like 6 months) I was able to partake of the magnificent chocolate bounty that was Lindt Pyrenées chocolates. I tried purchasing several boxes once, hoping that they would last until the following year, but I think that they only made it to February.

    • For all that’s good and holy, please tell me if you find them! – I can’t even find more than token mention of them on the Internet. The Internet you understand!!
  2. My humongous brain. Without it I be dumb.

Eyes are a close runner up, the thought of losing my eyesight frightens me. I’m serious. Nervous chills strike me when I consider that macular degeneration runs in my family. But that’s neither here nor there,

  3. Jacob and Danny = 2 strapping children. They are truly awesome.
  4. Computers. Not only are they the basis of my worth to society, but I also find them excellent time-wasters, whether I’m checking blogs or tweaking the site to run faster, or modifying someones code to work better for me. But of course there do exist times when, like this morning, I was talking about how stupid computers are and why wouldn’t they just work… (Later it was determined to be my fault it wasn’t working.)

And to polish off the rest of the list…

  1. Planes, Trains, and automobiles.
  2. Slurpees and milkshakes.
  3. Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.
  4. Fresh chocolate chip cookies.
  5. Basketball.
  6. Last but not least, perhaps greatest? Tami. I thought about leaving her off the list to be funny, but then I imagined Tami reading it and lasers shooting out of her eyes and slicing off my limbs. (Seriously, I can see Tami going: “Oh ha ha, I’m not on your blessing list? Let’s see how you like playing on the computer with no arms!)

    She’s the greatest!

I’m not sure how I feel about the fact that I made the list largely due to fear on my husband’s part… I guess I could use that to my advantage (ha, as if I already don’t!). I guess I’ll take what I can get. Also, can I get an Amen and a Hallelujah for number 8?!
