Brain Dump

Disneyland

To break in our new Disneyland passes, we went with some friends (Lauren and Dave, Tyler and Wendy, Jana and Chantel), and left the kids at home. Awesome! Pictures above. Since then, I’ve been doing some research into the hidden mickeys so I have more useless Disney trivia to show off. Here is some other stuff we were discussing last night, which I know Tyler secretly wanted. He pretended not to be really interested, but I think he wanted this information as well.

Neil Gaiman

Great author. The movie Stardust is from one of his stories and I recently saw this
on my geek journeys. It’s a Hugo Award Nominee, which means it’s a good sci-fi story. I apologize for my geekiness.

Myths and Reality

This video (approximately 5-10 minutes long) was originally produced by the church for the Olympics held in Utah in 2002, and was recently updated. Bonus: It’s narrated by Steve Young. Interesting note about Steve Young. When I was in the MTC, he came and shopped at the bookstore there. Presumably this was so he wouldn’t get mobbed like he probably would be by shopping at the BYU bookstore. We saw him walking through the campus, and this probably proves that I am a total loser, but I took that opportunity and weird as it sounds, had him sign the only thing I had on me. My french Book of Mormon. How weird would that be for a celebrity to sign?

Google

Congratulations Tami! As of tonight we are ranked #7 on google for How many 5 year olds could you fight. That’s really quite an achievement if you ask me.

You know, we were joking last night about how Brent is a big Disney nerd… but man I had no idea how true that really was until now. (sorry everyone) And if it looks like we were the last people in the park – we seriously were. Poor Chantel was pretty much chased out of the bathroom by a Disney security dude. We didn’t get home till 1:30 am and the park closed at 11… don’t ask me how that happened. Those are some hot chicks in the Pirate’s Lair though.

And yes, Stardust was pretty awesome. I really liked that movie. There isn’t a lot that’s funnier than a cross-dressing, gay pirate.

Now I feel like a jerk for calling my husband a nerd. Though I really meant it lovingly, cuz nerd = smart and smart = hot. Am I right? Anyways dear, I like your Disney trivia… It makes all of us a little nerdier = smarter = hotter. And who doesn’t want that?

I don’t know. I think the term “Disney nerd” sounds like a freak. I don’t mind being a nerd as long as it’s not a Disney one.

a disneynerd is cool, as long as he’s wearing a BYU sweatshirt whilst disney-ing.

I am jealous you all went without your kids. I love to go with Margo, but it would be fun to just go with adults every once and a while.

Oh man this Disney nerd discussion is hilarious!

Disney land really can be the happiest place on earth, if you don’t have to bring strollers and snacks and…….
