It’s been a busy couple of days for us. Saturday night we went on a nice harbor cruise for Brent’s work (where they had the best cheesecake ever!!) and my parents came into town. Sunday my sister’s baby was blessed and we spent the day with the fam. Sunday night I was hit with a serious cold/flu bug of some sort that has kept me fairly miserable and housebound for the last few days. Two nights in a row now I have woken up as sweat-drenched as if I’d just finished a 2 hour cycle class at the gym. Seriously! Last night my hair was straight when I went to bed – completely curly when I woke up. UGH. So not fun.
But, in an effort to stay positive – I snapped a few pictures of some things that really cheered me up. EXHIBIT A (below): When I finally made it downstairs Monday morning, this is how the kids were entertaining themselves…

I can’t believe how neatly Danny fit into that little box! Maybe I could save money that way the next time we fly…? Do you think he’d get past security? Joking!
Also – my parents were in town for a few days and had a lot of fun with the boys. Jake and Danny have the best grandparents on both sides, and pretty much worship all of them. My dad spent a lot of time with the boys playing ball in the backyard. He gave them lots of good pointers – I think they are ready for major league T-Ball now. I love my dad. He turns 69 on Wednesday and is as cool, young, fit, and hip as ever. He drives fast cars, runs hardcore races, listens to cool music, makes me laugh, and will even gossip with me about Britney Spears and Kelly Pickler. It’s a treat to have him around. I hope he lives to be 200. See EXHIBIT B (below):

It’s been an added bonus to have my mom around to make life a little easier. The woman never fails to blow my mind when it comes to serving. She basically spends her life rotating between her 9 kids’ houses helping out with grandkids and whatever else needs to be done. And the awesome thing is, she does it without you ever having to ask. She cleans, cooks, does laundry, takes the kids to the park, shuttles them to school, gets them dressed, reads stories, plays in the dirt, goes to the grocery store, takes your temperature, fetches you Tylenol, forces you to take a nap, and repeatedly tells you how gorgeous you are – and then before she leaves, buys you and your husband a banana cream pie for “being such good parents.” Mom’s are the best! I’ve got some big shoes to fill. Not to mention – she’s totally cute and totally cool! I love these shots I got of her and Danny at the duck pond. See EXHIBIT C (below):

Now – here’s to hoping I wake up in dry pajamas. I’m sick of being sick.
