Lately it seemed like the kids were growing out of their clothes left and right. So yesterday I busted out the kiddie scale and tape measure looking for some concrete evidence – and I got it! Glad to know it’s not just my imagination… For record keeping’s sake, here are their stats:
Jacob (4.5 years old): 39 pounds = 62nd percentile, 44 inches = 94th percentile. The kid grew 1.5 inches in the last 2 months! Talk about a growth spurt… I was pretty surprised at his percentiles because Jake always seems about average size to me. I guess that’s because I’m comparing him to other kids in his preschool/church class – where he is by far the youngest. Plus, he is so skinny and just doesn’t quite compare to the tank that is Danny. I guess he is holding his own though.
Daniel (2.5 years old): 36 pounds = 95th percentile, 40 inches = officially WAY off the charts. This would explain why Danny towers over any kids even near his age, and why recently he can share most clothes with his older brother. I was a tank when I was little, too. Though I’m sure at least some of Danny’s height has to do with his dad being 6’5″. Funny, I knew from the first few weeks that I was pregnant with Danny that he was going to be a big kid. It’s not that I got much bigger or gained more weight than I did with Jake, I just knew he was going to be big. Weird how moms know stuff. Anyways, I wonder how tall the two of them will end up…
CHANGE OF SUBJECT. With Jana’s blog as inspiration, I looked through some old pictures and stumbled on these…

I know everyone always says how Danny is Brent’s complete mini-me. But I think Jake might have a shot at being my boy mini-me. What do you think? Can you see the resemblence? I think it’s cool that we seem to have equal representation going here. I wonder which genes will win out with the next baby… Maybe we’ll get a nice mix for Nef number 3. Like a girl with curly brown hair and blue eyes… Hey – I can dream, right?
