Enjoying the Moment

This is what I did with the boys in between sessions of conference today:

I’ve always been one to appreciate a good fort. And after hearing Elder Ballard’s talk this afternoon, I didn’t even feel bad about getting the kids down an hour late for their nap, or missing the first 20 minutes of the last session. I felt GOOD for enjoying time with my kids, instead of always rushing from one thing to the next. All I can say about that talk is: wow and THANK YOU. If any of you young mom’s out there missed it – make sure you get your hands on a copy. And then have your husbands read it too. It was such a good reminder to cherish these few years we have while our children are so young – and to really STOP and enjoy it. Not always an easy thing to do… But I’m going to try to do better at appreciating this short, but priceless time in my life.

What a fun mom. I missed the talk. I need to listen to it and then do those kinds of things more often.

That was my favorite talk! It was SO GOOD! How fun for your cute little boys that you helped them build that! What a good mommy!

I LOVED that talk too! I am a recommited fulltime MOMMY because of it. My cell phone no longer follows me around the house, and I only am on the computer when they are asleep. Your forts remind me of growing up when all of my siblings and I would make forts…I will definitely have to do this with Trent!!! Thanks for the idea!
