Perhaps you are familiar with Woot and their bag of crap. The essentials are that every once in awhile the online retailer woot, offers a random piece of merchandise for $1. There are even reports of people getting large screen tv’s for one dollar! The sale lasts only seconds as the limited number sells quickly and because of the volume of traffic, often the entire site will go down. On Aprils Fools Day, given 3 chances at a bag of crap, I finally got my first one ever… Take a gander.
For six dollars ($1 + $5 s/h), I got an MP3 Player Pillow, and about 50 woot wine bags. The MP3 Player Pillow takes 2 AA batteries, but you can then hook up your mp3 player to it (or listen to FM radio) and through it’s embedded speaker you can rest your head on it’s pillowy surface while listening to tunes (I couldn’t find how much this was sold on woot for, but it was probably ~10-20). Because the kids have been pretty good lately, and since they obviously find the pillow cooler than I do, they get to keep it.
I can’t find what the actual dollar amount is for the wine bags either, but I have seen that getting 50 of them was not a common occurence. (Seems that 1-5 was more common.) If anyone needs some wine bags, let me know (also good for Martinellis or other non-alcoholic bottles for those who don’t imbibe).

My most recent nerd moment? I replaced my dying ipod battery with a new one. The process of opening the ipod was fairly painless, and it appears that the operation was a success as the ipod still functions after surgery.
