Today at church the lesson in Relief Society was on Gifts of the Spirit. To start off the lesson Sister Ingle pulled a pair of hot red heels out of a gift box. She explained that her mother had just turned 87 and as a gag gift had received these heels from her niece – who wanted to show her just how hip and cool she still was. Of course her mother didn’t plan on wearing them. The point being that while she got a kick out of the present, it wasn’t really the most useful gift. The heels were then passed on to Sister Ingle, who also wouldn’t/couldn’t wear them. Apparently several other women tried on the shoes – but none were the right size.

Well, during the story I was sitting next to Shannon going on about how cute they were and how I’ve been wanting a pair of red heels, but never actually buy any. When I heard the heels currently had no owner, I said, “Ooh – I wonder if she’d give them to me?” RIGHT after that, Sister Ingle says, “And besides – when I saw these shoes – I immediately thought, I wonder if these would fit Tami Nef… I bet they’d look really good on her.” HA! So of course I shared what I was just saying, and the whole Relief Society had a big laugh on behalf of my feet and love for heels. After the lesson she called me up there to see if they fit. Size 9’s – which are normally too big. I’m usually an 8. But I tried them on and they fit perfectly! All the older ladies got a big kick out of me strutting up front and wanted to know what outfit I would wear them with. I took it as a compliment that Sister Ingle thought of me when she saw a cute, sassy, pair of red high heels.
Anyways – I felt a bit like Cinderella. Like they were meant to be mine. And she was so nice and actually gave them to me. See what fun Relief Society can be? She later told me she’d have to get a picture so she could show her mom – that she’d be happy to see they’d found a good home. So thank you Sister Ingle’s mom! And without further ado, here is a picture of me and my glass slippers. What do you think?
