27 years old! I think I liked the sound of 26 better, because then I was still in my mid 20’s. Oh well. It’s all down hill from here anyways, right? I hope not! Here are some birthday flashbacks for you – these are two of my favorite gifts I remember getting: my pink Care Bear (which I still have) and have bought a mini duplicate for the day I hopefully get a girl; and that matching purse and dress. I was THRILLED to carry a purse. Can you tell? I guess some things never change! Brent mocks my ever growing collection – I have to constantly rotate my stuff from one purse to another.

This year for my birthday I had a DELICIOUS fatty steak dinner from Outback that was so good I wanted to die from happiness. I also bought myself some shoes, clothes, accessories, and other random stuff and then told my husband and kids to wrap it up for my birthday. Another treat for myself – I took inventory and realized that pretty much none of my shorts (besides sweats) fit me anymore. So Sunday afternoon I begrudgingly pulled on my first pair of maternity pants. Argh. I always feel a weird sense of defeat at this stage. But hey, at least I’m a little more comfortable. I sure am sick of this in between phase though – where my normal clothes don’t fit, maternity clothes are mostly way too big, and I still just look kinda fat instead of obviously pregnant. Here are a few recent bump pictures. We’ve actually been taking them every Sunday for this cute pregnancy record book I bought. It’s been fun to see the subtle changes. (Don’t forget you can click the pictures to see them full size.)

I’m 17 weeks now and we still have to wait over 3 weeks to hopefully find out the gender. That seems so long! So far, I’m only feeling little taps and flutters every once in a while. Very different than my first two boys – who were generally hyperactive in the womb from pretty early on. Maybe “Scout” will be a little more mellow. And minus fairly regular headaches, I’m feeling good – though still TIRED a lot, and peeing A LOT!
Now, back to the coolness of Sept. 8th… Happy Birthday to my sister, Susi – we’ve shared the same birthday for 27 years and I’ve never minded one bit! I always thought it was kind of cool to share a birthday with my older, cooler, ever popular, and always beautiful inside and out, big sister. Check out the hoop earrings, neon shirt, and big bangs – what is cooler than that? Also note me in the background (with freaky short bangs!) kind of worshipiping her – very Stephanie/DJ ish.
