Danny is finally 3! It seems like he’s been 2 forever. And no one ever believed his age. On Jake’s first day of school three different people thought Danny was also starting kindergarten. This is how it would go – I’d say “No, he’s only 2.” “Two?? Seriously? Whoa… big kid.” Or something like that. Daniel is now 42″ tall and just over 40 pounds. That’s a full inch and a half OFF the growth percentile charts for all you moms. I also checked his baby book – since his 2nd birthday Danny has grown 5 INCHES!! And the doctors say growth is supposed to slow way down once they hit 2 years old. Not so much. Poor Jake – Danny is really giving him a run for his money. I think he might still have 2 inches on his little brother… maybe.

Anyways – we were happy to shower Danny with two weeks packed full of new adventures and birthday celebrations. He is such a joy. He is my easy, happy, helpful, and obedient boy. For those of you that know Brent – he really is his Dad’s mini-me in every way, not just looks. Is it any wonder I have such a crush on him?

Thanks to a first trip to Sea World with his (in Danny’s words) “AWE – OME” Uncle Greg and Aunt Ellen, a big company carnival, a promised birthday trip to Sky High, a few presents, and a Disneyland trip that happened to fall two days later, I’m sure the kid is thoroughly confused as to when his actual birthday is and how many parties/activities/presents he can expect in the future. Oh well – Is it so wrong to live it up while the kids still actually like to do stuff with us? Amidst the TONS of FUN Danny was able to compile quite the list of new accomplishments. Here they are:

- Fed a stingray and held a real starfish.

- Shook hands with Bert.
- Rode a llama. Yes, a llama.
- Sat very still while some clown painted a Ninja Turtle on his face.
- Held a magic bunny rabbit.
- Balloon sword battled and bounced the day away with a real pirate.

- Beat his big brother down with a giant, padded stick.
- Rode the 42″ requirement rides at California Adventure – even the scarier ones.
- Made his first significant income.
- Made his first significant investment in a Disneyland Buzz Lightyear Laser Blaster.

The lesson I hope he learned from all of this: Don’t be afraid to dream big. You can do anything!
The lesson he probably learned from all of this: Birthdays ROCK. I wonder what I’ll get to do next year…
The lesson I KNOW he learned from all of this: I am loved. And I AM 3!!!
