Carved pumpkins… TWICE! (Did anyone else notice how fast the pumpkins went bad this year? We’re talking 2 days max. I’m thinking it had to have something to do with the heat. Jake came down just one morning post carve and screamed, “Mommy what’s wrong with my pumpkin??!!” I found it completely covered on the inside with black and green fur. EWWWW.)

Can you tell who inspired Jake’s round two pumpkin? WALL-E.

Made lots of treats and ate lots of treats. (Which the scale is just now kindly reminding me of – 2 days before the dreaded doctor’s visit weigh-in. Yay. Notice how in the picture below everyone else is hard at work decorating… me? hard at work stuffing my face.) And this doesn’t even show the crazy amount of loot my kids pulled in trick or treating. Three big, heavy, ziploc storage bags full! Where is the chocolate aversion I had in the first trimester when I need it? I can’t handle this temptation!!

Played dungeons and dragons. Complete with two brave, handsome knights and a princess – or two, if you count the one in my tummy. (See Jacob’s gloomy expression in the first picture? That is right after he announced that he DID NOT want to be a knight for Halloween anymore – as we were literally walking out the door. He wanted to be a skeleton. Of course… Though a few candy bars later and he perked right up.)

Saving the princess = not very fun. Sword fighting each other = sort of fun. Defeating the giant, ugly, green dragon who had been terrorizing the princess = TONS OF FUN!!
