One Last Hoorah

I somehow managed to squeeze in one last girls getaway before this baby shows up. Since there are 3 of us that are probably within days (weeks, max) of delivery – we stayed close to home this time and crashed Lauren’s pad in Huntington Beach. I was a little nervous about going with my history of early deliveries, but I’m SO GLAD I did. We had a great time eating, talking, laughing, watching a ghetto copy of Twilight, listening to the 4 baby heartbeats floating around, doing pedicures, and just relaxing. I have the best friends here – which is one of the big reasons I never want to move! We’ve tried to make this an annual event – but I’m really pushing for every 6 months. I want a summer getaway where I can bake on a beach with no kids! Sounds like heaven, doesn’t it? Here are some pictures of everyone (minus Eve – we missed you!).

And it was so good to come home to my three handsome boys. Only a day away – but I seriously forgot how cute they all are! And allow me a moment to brag – my husband is so nice because he happily agrees to all my shenanigans. I never worry when I’m away because he is the best daddy. And while the kids might still be wearing the same clothes (plus a few mismatching additions) that they had on when I left – they are HAPPY when I get home and full of new adventures (not to mention chocolate chip pancakes). Because when Mom’s away, the boys will play! This time they hit up the park, went on some serious bike rides, dined at Burger King, played video games, picked flowers for Mom, and made a trip to the library. Thanks Brent – I’m so spoiled…

And one more tidbit – I went to the doctor’s this morning. I’m 38 weeks +1 day and am dilated to a 1. Baby is head down and probably in the mid to upper 6 pound range. With my other two pregnancies the first internal exam is what sent me into labor (within about 24 hours regular contractions started) – so we’ll see what happens this time around. Though if she’s measuring smaller, maybe she’ll decide to stay put a little bit longer. Whatever the case – we’re ready and waiting. One thing is for sure: I can’t wait to see the stupid scale start going DOWN, instead of up.

It’s a common misconception that boys need to change their shorts everyday. Underwear, yes. Shorts, not really, I mean they’re just there to get dirty.

I totally agree with Brent! Clean shorts will just get dirty again and then it makes more laundry for Mom when she gets home. I think he was really thinking of you Tami! 🙂 Good luck to you guys!!! We love ya!

Wasn’t that the best? I’m so glad we’ve kept up the tradition (even if it’s only our second year). I’ve been craving PB M&M’s ever since!

Andrew’s mom has some friends from middle school that she goes away with every year. In fact that all just went to Israel together. Let’s keep the tradition up and then when our kids are gone and done sucking us dry ($) then we can hit up some cool locations.
