Since it was 87 degrees here yesterday, me and the kids headed over to Chantel’s so all the boys could frolic in the blow up pool together. And while of course I kept Lindsay away from the freezing water and out of the sun (except for about 2 minutes) – I couldn’t resist the opportunity for her to dress the part…

Look at LJ’s first swimsuit! Holy cuteness. I must say – seeing her sprawled out in the sun, relaxing on a beach towel really inspired a “like mother, like daughter” moment for me. Even though I did not dare to squeeze myself into a swimsuit yesterday… I hope to be striking the same pose within a few months. I can’t wait to get my tan back!

And to ensure equal representation – here are some awesome pictures I snapped of the boys at Burger King Saturday night. We dined on dollar chicken nuggets and diet Coke while Dad was at priesthood meeting. The boys had a grand old time screaming their heads off and running a muck on the playground. Though the real icing on the cake came for Jake when he acquired Burger King crowns for him and Danny…

After seeing another kid with a crown on, Jacob sweetly asked me if maybe next time we could get one. I answered, “There are a bunch on the counter – you can go get one right now if you want.” His eyes got all big and he ran to the counter, froze, then came back. “How do I do it?” he asked. I told him, “Just grab them. They’re free.” Well this was just too good to be true! So good that Jake made it a point to tell every other kid on the playground where to get a crown, and then to tell the kid’s parents that, believe it or not, they are FREE! As we were getting ready to leave he said to me, “Mom, today is the most awesome day.” Way to be grateful, Jake.
