Auto-tune this Title

One day I aspire to write software as cool as autotune. An engineer who originally created software used to statistically analyze geographical features for oil/gas exploration, realized that similar algorithms could be used to process audio tracks and make even limited singers hit the correct notes. Other entertainers (rappers) playing with the software found that you could make a warbly type audio effect. And now others have combined all the above to take people talking, make them sing, and rap along with them. I apologize to any that might have seen this same link from facebook. (I linked it there as well). Make sure you watch at least through Katie Couric @ 1:23.

Same Guy!

Surprisingly, this guy made american idol in season 7:

I suggest that if you find a moment of spare time (and your significant other lets you) you go look at his other videos. I’m not saying it will be time well spent, but it will be time spent.

I was tasked to share family information this weekend. And I don’t know what else to say about that. Oh yeah! Check out my little girl. She’s so awesome. In my ~3 months having a daughter, I have noticed several differences between my girl and boys.

  1. Lindsay is not content to sit around in her messy diapers. The boys were more than fine to sit in the squishy diapers. In fact they probably thought that provided an extra little cushion. I understand that thought process — I mean who complains about an extra pillow?

Lindsay however, starts elevating her tush and looking uncomfortable to even let the diaper touch the ground, let alone her body. The piece de resistance though is the big smile she flashes when she gets changed. She loves you for getting rid of that mess.

  2. For some reason when Lindsay smiles (and as of this morning, laughs) I nearly (hey, just nearly — don’t revoke the man-card yet) get teary-eyed.
  3. I got jealous when Lindsay laughed for the first time for Tami and I didn’t get anything until this morning. LJ laughed for Tami early this week, after I had spent several days solely committed to getting her to laugh for me. Ready to disown her, I melted once she laughed for me, and all was forgiven. I guess it was Tami’s turn, but I don’t have much that I can do for the first 10-11 months of having a new kid. Making them laugh was my thing. Oh well. But I totally got her to laugh today. And it was awesome.

My little sister Melanie just graduated from the “Y”. As her older brother I’m obliged to put a snarky comment about her major being History (I mean really! 😆 ), but I’m going to pass on it this time. We’re proud of her and really enjoyed being able to spend some time with her. Plus she has babysat a ton for us, so we totally owe her.

During a break from the graduation festivities, Danny got a chance to ride in Grandpa’s “tractor”. He told us the entire way up there that he wasn’t scared of the tractor anymore (he missed out on a ride last November). When the time came for his turn he nearly froze up again. He was fine once he got to steer (the fact that it only has a top speed of 5 mph didn’t hurt either). I guess we can put him to work mowing Grandma and Grandpa’s lawn soon.

I loved this – I especially liked the one on his website with Barack Obama. And good job Danny for getting on the tractor! What a cutie.

What a sweet daddy you are to both boys and girls! I loved your comments Brent. Of course you are one of my favorite son-in-laws!! As they ALL are!

That picture of Melanie jumping for joy really turned out awesome. The only thing that would’ve made it cooler is if she were holding up a pack of Mentos.

    Mentos… The Freshmaker.

Oh and the funny thing is – Brent really was TICKED all week at the baby for not smiling or laughing at him. That really is his thing. I almost felt bad for getting the first laugh for once. ALMOST. But not enough to stop me from immediately calling him at work to rub it in. 🙂 Hey – I lugged her around for 9 months… I earned it!

Oh and that picture of my dad is pretty dang funny. So is that picture of Lindsay. She looks slightly scared. Probably Brent’s giant camera lens freaked her out.

I don’t think the diaper thing is a girl trait… Moseley gets ticked if you leave him in his stinky diaper for more than 5 seconds, however Carmen wasn’t that bothered by it. Maybe it was something in the water in that 2 week time frame that we both got pregnant. 🙂

It looks awesome! next time i see you i’m gonna have to pick your brains! i’m going to probably bore you with camera talk, i apologise in advance!

@ellen – http://digital-photography-school.com/how-to-make-digital-photos-look-like-lomo-photography – I tried to follow that. Of course online tutorials are more guidelines than the absolute best way to do something. (Which means, please don’t judge me…)

I approve of the auto-tuning shenanigans … but until there is video-sound or an opportunity to see Lindsay laughing I will feel like something is missing in my life.
