I have always coveted my aunt and uncles creativity, they are completely awesome — which is beside the point, but they named their domicile “Ravings”. Brilliant, in a I-wish-i-could-think-of-something-like-that way.
And since we’re in the process of making the new house our home, and to help expedite that process, we need to give our house a proper name. A name that could last for the next 20 years. A name that will work when we curse it for having run-down equipment and features (this could already have come in handy). A name for when we want to invite you over to enjoy some fine hospitality — You’ll have to wait until we have some more furniture though. A name that we can burn onto a piece of wood and hang over the porch. A name to emblazon on a T-shirt and use at family reunions… (There’s just so many uses for a good house name).
Our last house was only planned as a stepping stone (we didn’t want to get too attached), but really that’s just an excuse because we couldn’t find a name that fit that house, but now… It’s time.
Lately it seems we are lacking the creative spark required to find the “right” name (I blame the 3 children). We need your help. Below are a couple of ideas that we have had, heavily influenced by the neighboring casino that is 1/4 mile away. Feel free to vote on them or add your own as a comment below and I can add it to the poll. Help us make our house a home.
