I now understand what it feels like to have a child in a sport/activity that you are just as vested in as they are. I think I was just as excited (if not more so) than Danny, when he received this. And just as nervous when he tested it for it.

Introducing Daniel-san – YELLOW BELT. One of the youngest kids in his class. He practiced A LOT and I’m SO proud of him. He loves loves this karate business and refuses to “take a break” for summer. Check out the final stage of his test = breaking a board in half for the FIRST TIME EVER, and with a huge audience. If it doesn’t break, he doesn’t pass…
Yes. My 5 year old stud son just did that. Ska-doosh!! And bonus – he can now sit super still for long periods of time, listen well, and follow directions exactly… in class anyways. Way to go Danny!!
Now, check out this video montage of Lindsay. She is my singing super star. She sings all the time, at the top of her lungs, sweetly and softly, when no one is looking, and when everyone is looking. At home, in the car, outside. And it’s mostly all gibberish. It is beyond awesome. I am thrilled to have a little performer in the family. Until recently we’ve never been able to catch it on camera… And even this doesn’t really do it justice.
But here are the things I love about this video:
- Lindsay has no pants on for half of it.
- All of the giggling/cracking up in the background.
- The fact that Lindsay utilizes a boogie board as a stage and a broken hose attachment as a microphone.
- The part when she discovers she’s being recorded and then smiles at the camera, and sings even more.
- Jake’s back up dancing.
- And her complete meltdown when I try to stop her from singing.
Enjoy.
