We plotted. We planned. And we escaped. Seven moms to nineteen kids – for almost 5 days and 4 nights. I’m still surprised we pulled it off. Get ready for a picture-thon.

Me and my best girlfriends drove the swagger wagon all the way to Park City, Utah where Shannon and Krystal’s massive family “cabin” awaited us. For free. Ka-ching!

There was heat. There was rain. There was wind. There was enormous hail. There were also deer, angry handicapped drivers, crazy DI patrons, and one seriously unstable pregnant chick. But even that couldn’t stop our fourth annual “Sew Sexy” getaway.
As they say in Moulin Rouge, the show must go on…

And it did! And WENDY was there! Hooray!

And I turned 30! Booooo. Hisssss. But at least I got to celebrate with an awesome joint party at my parents’ house with all my best friends, everyone’s moms and sisters, a giant trampoline, and free haircuts. So fun! And definitely a little less painful. Thanks Jana for the delicious cake “we” made. And thanks Mom and Dad for hosting everyone and for the delicious 50’s style diner food. SO good. You made us all feel about 14 again. And that was priceless!!

We kept crazy hours, woke up to gourmet breakfasts (thanks Mama J!), had midnight Zumba-thons, talked, watched movies, laughed till we cried, envied an anonymous bum, ate giant sandwiches, rocked Japanese glasses, shopped, and played really dumb games. It was epic.

And guess what? I SEWED. For real. With a sewing machine. I figured my 30th birthday was a good time to learn. And that going to “sewing” night for the last 4 years without ever actually sewing anything was a little ridiculous. Thanks Chantel for your patience and for letting me murder your machine. After about 2 days, a horrendous backache, and much weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth – here is the finished product. Two little accent pillows for Lindsay and the baby’s room. They didn’t turn out that great, but guess what – I’ve made more since then! I’m on fire. Pictures of the finished room coming soon…

And that’s a wrap. Thanks husbands for being so accommodating. We are all so lucky to have you. And thanks girls I love so much. It’s not everyday you find friends like these. Hope to be as silly, gym addicted, and immature when we are all 80 years old!
