Well, the room Lindsay will soon share with her baby brother is almost ready. After suffering through almost a year of hideous glossy peach walls, hardly any furniture, mismatched bedding, and toys and junk all over the place we all think the room is MUCH improved. I’m still shuffling a few things around and unpacking a little more baby stuff – but it’s basically done. Be sure to click the pictures and scroll across to see the full image – a few are extra long panoramic…

Love the new neutral paint color (thanks Brent for painting!); Dwell for Target online for all the cute bedding; LJ’s new, big, pretty white bed (with trundle) courtesy of Craigslist; the sweet Ikea cubby bookshelf; Fisher Price for bringing back some classic toys; Goodwill for the rocking chair; my old friend Lauren for the cute yellow chalkboard table; and my good friends Chantel for LJ’s cloth dolly, and Eve for the super cute “You are my sunshine” mini quilt on the wall.

And look at all the pillows I made! With a sewing machine! By myself! I love them – especially the multi-colored chevron stripe one. PS – do you like my 35 week belly? Clad in sweats and a BYU t-shirt that was once huge and is now tight? Lovely.

If you can’t tell, my inspiration for the room (which I’ve been sitting on for like 2 years) came from the book, Are You My Mother. It was Lindsay’s fave when she was little. I used the same colors (turquoise, red, brown, yellow), the little birdy, the Snort, and the red and white polka dots from the Mother’s kerchief. Also of note: my hyper organization/nesting skills. See typed labels for storage boxes… 🙂

Next on deck – the master bedroom. THANK GOODNESS. Cuz I don’t know how much longer I can live in this cesspool of ugliness. I’ve got a vision, paint swatches, and bedding. Now I just need a little bit of money to buy some new furniture. Baby steps, right?
