Cute Stuff

Lindsay just finished her first dance class. It was a sight to behold. A sort of organized chaos with about 15 toddlers DECKED out in tutus, legwarmers, and fairy wings each week. LJ thought it was heaven on earth. So did I.

Every time we went I would silently thank Heavenly Father for giving me a girl. It was THAT cute. And made me THAT happy. Especially to see Lindsay try to infuse her innate hip hop-ness with a class that focused more on ballet. Awesome. Also – Lindsay is LOUD. One of her favorite things was getting to cheer or yell something on cue. Pretty sure she is destined to be a cheerleader. She loves to shake her bootie, shout, run and jump, and look pretty while doing it. And she is one of the friendliest kids around. Look for her on the football field in about 12 years. I’m pretty sure she’ll be the one with pom poms.

Also of note: Lindsay likes to be FIRST. Any time the class was supposed to dance or march across the room, or follow in a line, she would forget the dance moves after about 2.5 seconds and just bolt running to the front of the pack. I never tried to stop her. It was too hilarious. And I was secretly too proud of her Cox competitive genes (Nef too…). Nothing wrong with wanting to win. What’s that you say? It’s not a competition? Everything’s a competition. 😉

Other cute stuff:

Jake started Cub Scouts and looks dashing in his little uniform. With handsewn patches taboot (thanks to a loving mother). He is stoked on Scouts and has already earned his Bobcat and a few other patches and belt loops. He also participated in his first big flag ceremony and came in second place for his pack’s canned food drive. He went all around our neighborhood, in his uniform, introduced himself, and asked complete strangers to donate to a good cause. I was pretty impressed. He made friends of our neighbors and brought in a huge haul of canned food. Way to do your best Jake!

Danny brought this home from school a few weeks ago and gave it to Jake. He was super proud of it. I about died. It is the sweetest thing ever. The little drawing even looks like them. I am going to matte and frame it. It reminds me (like Brent is always telling me) that even though they try to kill each other every now and then, they really love each other deep down. It reads: I like playing with my buthr. Sam tims we fit, but I stil like him.

Yes my children are the best!

And I have no idea where they get their competitiveness from…

Seriously, LJ could NOT be cuter in her dance gear. I am saying a thankful prayer that you got your girl, too!
